David Sibbet has been a visual practitioner for 38 years, pioneering the use of large scale, interactive recording and visualizing for such things as strategy development, organizational change, leadership development, and cross-boundary teaming and action planning. He has followed the developed of visualization tools and methods and is currently in the process of writing a book on the subject. His passion is getting people to understand that visual thinking and visual meetings are not just nice but necessary to support groups thinking systemically and acting collaboratively. He is also convinced that the tools and methods of doing this are now readily available, and accessible to anyone.
Technology is on the lip of breaking into tablets and 3D; robust virtual environments and virtual work are becoming a norm. David has tracked and participated in all these developments, helping many of the companies like Apple, Adobe, Intel and HP that are creating these tools. He believes that the marriage of the work he and a network of visual practitioners inspired by the SF Bay Area’s innovative designer communities has been doing is merging with these new technologies to create a renaissance in business visualization. If these strategies can help face the complexity of current economic, social and environmental challenges they are coming just in time.
